More Kids Menu Options at Islands

We love to stop by Islands for a bite to eat and a drink for Happy Hour. They have locations all over San Diego and we typically go to the Mira Mesa or Carmel Mountain Ranch location. I am stoked for the Islands kids menu filled with tons of options. Islands invited us to our neighborhood location to try out some of their latest offerings. I ordered the lava flow which was rather tasty and pretty strong for a blended drink. I typically go for iced beverages but I liked the sound of Pina colada with strawberry throughout.

We had the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer which helped keep the kiddos in line as they "patiently" waited for their dinner.

My madre ordered the special which was a breakfast burger. It had egg, bacon and a slab of hash browns. This was super tasty. They are only serving it at certain locations while they test it out but it should be added to their burger menu for the bacon + breakfast enthusiasts.

I had the fish tacos and added avocado. This totally hit the spot as I wanted something hearty but not too heavy.

My kiddos got the Jr Quesadilla with pineapple and yogurt dip and the li'l slider with cheese and applesauce. These meals were perfect for my kiddos. I really like that they have options that are not all fried and that the side dishes are all pretty healthy.

Islands Locations & Information

Islands has 9 locations throughout San Diego County including: Mission Valley, Mira Mesa, Carmel Mountain, Carlsbad (Palomar), Carlsbad (The Shoppes), Vista & Chula Vista. They have a relaxing beach vibe and feature surf videos and sports on their TVs. Happy Hour is offered during the week from 3-6:30PM. Islands is known for their burgers and fries but also has tasty tacos, salads, sandwiches and appetizers!
