Have you been to Corvette Diner in Liberty Station? I hadn't been since they relocated from Hillcrest. The new location is much larger with multiple rooms and a lot going on. It has the same feel as the restaurant always has: fun, old-fashioned, kid-focused and loud. Our kiddo had a blast! Her favorite parts were the balloon animals, milkshakes and game garage.
The decor is pretty awesome taking it back to the 50s and 60s. I love all the bright colors, fluorescent signs and the corvette in the entry way.
Our kiddo couldn't wait for the balloon guy to get to our table. She was staring at him until he made it over. She promptly requested a pony and he quickly made the cutest little pink pony balloon.
My absolute favorite part was the milkshakes. I had the banana, peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. It was fabulous. Our kiddo had the marshmallow which was a bit too sweet for me but she sucked it down. Mark had a beer after a long week of work.
Mark ordered the pastrami burger. It was massive and delicious. I had the beef dip and the kiddo had a hot dog for dinner. The fried pickles were a good choice for an appetizer.
The gamers garage is full of fun games for everyone. It seemed a little more geared towards older kids but we found a good amount of games to play. They liked air hockey the best!
If you're looking for a fun spot to take the kiddos you need to go to Corvette Diner. It is a busy place so make sure to make reservations. And don't forget to try a milkshake!
