Over Memorial Day weekend we took a trip up to Big Bear in the 2015 Kia Sorento and had so much fun! We got the Sorento as a press loan to try out for the week. The Sorento has a lot of the same awesome features as the Optima but in SUV form.
Although Mark and I really liked the Optima for a sedan it wasn't quite as fitting for our family. The Sorento was a great fit. The interior had a ton of space. It even had the third row of seats that could also fold down for trunk space.
I'm really getting used to the look and feel of a new car. Look how clean this thing is. We packed up the back of the car for our drive up to Big Bear and still had space available.
The interior of the car is super sleek and comfortable. I always bring my laptop and my purse with me in the front seat. I like to have access to it if I need to get any work done. There was plenty of room for my stuff and my long legs.
The first awesome feature we noticed was the cooling seats. We have tried seats with heat but never cooling seats. This was definitely a luxury we could get used to. You know how black leather seats can get hot even in the air conditioning? Well, not these!
Once we got on the road it was nap time for the little lady. She passed out right away. She was pretty restless when she got up so movie time was next. Like mommy, like daughter.
Ellie girl was also pretty comfy in the backseat. Seriously, look at her smile. What a pretty girl. I wanted to point out these super cool shades that are built in to the door. See the little tab? You just pull it up and hook it to the top of the window for a little extra shade.
My kiddo tried out the shade later on the trip when the sun was shining in her eyes.
The views in Big Bear never get old. I love the yellow flowers that line the streets on the way up the winding hill.
We really had such a great trip to Big Bear. We go a few times every summer since my in-laws got a home there. This time some of our family friends came with us. Their little boy is just a few months older than our girl and they play so well together.
The kiddos did a little fishing with their daddies on the boat dock.
Mark ended up catching a fish right after my kiddo had enough. Ellie was sure happy to see the fishy. Then we headed out on the boat for a day on the lake.
The Sorento is AWD (all wheel drive) which is nice for parking up on a dirt hill.
The next morning we celebrated Memorial Day. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast of blueberry muffins, sausage and egg bites and this patriotic fruit salad.
We enjoyed a picnic in the park with our family and friends. Then the kiddos played on the playground.
We really enjoyed our trip and felt very grateful to be able to test out the 2015 Kia Sorento along our journey.
After we headed back to San Diego (and did a few other local errands) the gas light came on. Not only does the car show how many miles you can go with the remaining amount of gas in the car but it also asks if you'd like to search for the closest gas station. How great is that?!
I really liked that the car had two sets for the seat and mirror adjustments. This really came in handy when switching between Mark and I driving.
All in all, we REALLY enjoyed the Kia Sorento. The car was a great fit for our family and had plenty of space for more people. The features are very smart and luxurious. The next time we are in the market for a new vehicle, the Sorento will be top on the list.
Have you driven a Kia Sorento? What did you think?
I received the Kia Sorento as a press loan for one week as editorial consideration. All opinions are my own.
