Why create a Christmas Tree board with Baked Brie?
Everyone loves a good cheese board. This one is perfect for the holidays. It's an easy dish to create and serve at any holiday gathering. It's a great option to bring to a party too!
What Ingredients Do I Need for this Cheese Board?
For this fun Christmas Tree board, you will need: 1 pastry dough - thawed, 1 wedge of brie, fig butter or any jam, honey, crackers, candied nuts, cranberries, sugar and water.
How Do You Make A Baked Brie Christmas Tree?
First, make sure the pastry dough is thawed. I bought these ingredients at Trader Joes. Their pastry dough is in the freezer section and I got the 18.3 Oz package and I used one of the sheets. Then you'll need to cut the brie wedge into the shape of a Christmas tree with a sharp knife. Simply cut two chunks off of the bottom of the pointed wedge to make the shape of a tree as seen in the image below.
Next, place the brie onto the pastry dough in the center.
Then add your toppings. I used about 2 tablespoons of fig jam, a tablespoon of honey and a handful of candied pecans.
Then, wrap the tree with the pastry dough. Take the top left corner and fold it over the right side of the tree. Cut the right side of the dough off. Pinch the remainder of the pastry dough around the bottom of the tree. You can cut off any extra dough to use separately.
Use the remainder of the dough to make 2 stars with a cookie cutter and 2 presents. The last two small chunks of brie can be wrapped up with pastry dough to make 2 small "presents".
Place each piece on a parchment lined cookie sheet to bake at 400F for 15 minutes. To make candied cranberries, mix ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup of water in a small sauté pan and simmer till combined. Add in a cup of cranberries and stir. Let sit for 10 minutes, off the heat. Roll the cranberries in additional sugar for sprinkled cranberries.
