You know we love a good adventure and delicious food. We have found an awesome brunch cruise for families in San Diego! City Experiences By Hornblower reached out to see if we would be interested in checking out one of their boat rides. They offer whale watching, dinner cruises, harbor cruises, brunch cruises as well as city tours on land. We chose the brunch cruise since I thought it would be the best fit for our family. We had an awesome time on the premier brunch cruise in San Diego. The whole experience was super fun. From the welcome glass of champagne or sparkling cider, to the delicious spread of brunch options, and the amazing San Diego views!
Brunching and Cruising in San Diego
There really aren't that many greater things than enjoying a delicious brunch and being on a boat. If you're looking for a fun way to experience San Diego, a brunch cruise is the way to go. This was a really great family activity for all of us to get together and enjoy something fun for the start of the new year. Parking for the cruise is right by the pier. They offer 3 hour parking which works well for the 2 hour cruise. We boarded 30 minutes before our cruise set sail. We were greeted with a welcome glass of champagne or sparkling cider.
Welcome Aboard
All the ticketing was done online so we just had to check in when we arrived to get our table setting. Each group is given a table number, which will then be your assigned table for the duration of the cruise. You are free to roam around the boat at any time and come back to the table if you'd like to eat or watch the views. The kids were excited to walk on board and get a beverage before even sitting down to our table. Once we sat down, we cheers'd to the occasion and enjoyed a welcome chocolate. The Food on the Brunch Cruise
For this brunch cruise, it was a buffet style meal. The kids are now 7 and 11 so they both served themselves and were excited to choose whatever items they wanted. They also went back a couple times later during the cruise for extra piece of bacon or a muffin. The choices for food were really good. My favorites were a bread pudding French toast with fresh berries and whipped cream, the Mac n cheese, antipasto salad and the strip loin.
San Diego Bay Views By Boat
After we enjoyed brunch, we went the second and third floors of the boat to enjoy the views. We lucked out with a really beautiful, sunny day in January. They had a really helpful map attached below with the sights of San Diego Bay. We went on the loop of the north bay and circled back to do the loop of the South Bay. We were able to see so many of our favorite spots from the views of the boat.
There are tables and benches all around the top floors of the boat as well and plenty of seating for people to move around where they'd like. My favorite spot was sitting at the table next to the railing so I could enjoy the views and the unlimited champagne. There were a lot of servers pouring champagne during the entire cruise. I had my fair share.
Desserts
We also enjoyed the tray passed desserts at the end of the cruise. They gave out mini creme brûlée cups, brownie bites, and a smore's bar.
We had an amazing time enjoying the food, the drinks and the fabulous views!
