Wine & Cheese Paint Party at Venissimo in Del Mar

The Wine & Cheese Paint Party at Venissimo in Del Mar was such a blast! This was our first hybrid event where guests had the choice of joining us live at the Venissimo Del Mar shop "piazza del formaggio" courtyard or via Zoom from the comfort of their home! This Paint Party is in collaboration with Venissimo's Wino Wednesday series, where Cheese Wiz Gina and Academy of Cheese Professor RobbyG share their knowledge about the featured Art.Terra orange wine and regale tales of being cheese mongers for well over a decade. Each guest created their very own wine and cheese painting on canvas featuring the wine and one of the paired cheeses of the evening.

I really enjoyed being the artistic instructor for the evening, live from Del Mar. I taught how to paint this abstract painting with brush techniques while sipping on wine and nibbling on cheese.

Guests had the choice of getting just the perfectly paired cheese plate for two, and/or adding a bottle of the featured Art.Terra orange wine, and/or purchasing the painting kit to join in the fun.

This is such a dream collaboration for me! I've been a fan of Venissimo ever since I stopped by their location in Liberty Station. Once I did the mural at Flower Hill, I knew I had to stop by the shop in Del Mar. Their cheese plates are so delicious. I had one recently on a stroll through the mall and a walk by the beach. If you've never been, it's a real treat and such a knowledgeable place to learn about cheese!

This orange wine by Art Terra is so unique. How fitting of a name! The painting pulls from the beautiful orange color of the wine to make this a very unique experience.
