Pretty much all of my friends and family are on a low-carb, Keto or gluten free diet these days. I'm always interested to learn about nutrition and how our bodies work. I think it's more about a healthy balance than restricting any one thing. I do, however see the benefits if you're trying to loose weight, get back to a more balanced diet and/or take better care of your body. I'm all for feeling good and eating good. I love seeing people get excited about taking care of themselves. I'm happy to work on ANY recipes that will encourage better self care and love for our bodies. All this talk about low carb got me thinking of new recipes, like these Blue Cheese & Onion Burgers with Parmesan Crisps!
These burgers are super simple to create and only take about 15 minutes for the whole meal! I used Kobe Beef patties from the grocery store and added montreal steak seasoning. Then I cooked them on medium heat for about 5 minutes per side. I chopped a yellow onion and sautéed those for about 5 minutes per side in a separate pan with olive oil and salt.
These burgers are made with butter lettuce because it is a thick and wide lettuce which makes it easy to pick up the burger. The burgers are topped with white cheddar cheese, grilled onions, avocado and blue cheese dressing. So simple, so tasty! Grab the recipe for these Blue Cheese & Onion Burgers below!

Parmesan Crisps
I thought these would be harder to make. I tried them a couple different ways but I will share the best way with you here. These simple crisps are an awesome addition to these tasty burgers. They are meant to take place of crispy chips and have all the crunch you need!
1 Bag of Shredded Parmesan
1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon of Dried Parsley
Preheat oven to 400F. Add little stacks of parmesan cheese to a silicone or parchment lined baking sheet. Pat down the cheese to make little circles. Sprinkle each cheese circle with a pinch of garlic powder and dried parsley. Bake for 5 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
How simple is that?! My mom just bought a bag of parmesan crisps for $10. These cost me $2.50 and they are fresh! 1 bag of parmesan cheese makes about 16 large crisps.
I added sliced bell peppers for our side dish. I love the yellow bell peppers because they are a bit sweeter than the others. The vibrant colors make the dish more inviting too! I hope you enjoy this recipe for Blue Cheese & Onion Burgers With Parmesan Crisps! xo - Bri
