At least once a day my family and I gather together around the dining room table to talk about our day and enjoy a meal. This has always been really important to me because it gives us all a chance to connect. Mealtime can happen any time of the day when friends and family are around and we have tasty food to share. We love to go on picnics at the park or the beach and simply celebrate life. Last week I attended a private dinner hosted by Dietz and Watson. If you're not familiar, they offer a wide range of premium meats and artisan cheeses. They have started a dinner series called Choose The Table to help encourage friends and family to Gather Together over a meal. They believe mealtime is the centerpiece of our relationships. I have to agree! When we gather together over a meal, we get the opportunity to share our lives with each other.
I attended their first San Diego Choose The Table event with a few new friends and we enjoyed a delicious spread. We had a 5 course dinner prepared by executive chef Giselle Wellman. I love that food has the power to bring people together and enjoy life. If you’re in San Diego, sign up for a chance to sit at the next Choose The Table exclusive dinner
We started the evening off with this beautiful spread of premium meats and artisan cheeses paired with delicious fruits and veggies. I loved the grilled pineapple wrapped in prosciutto.
Chef Giselle Wellman and Chef Roc prepared all the food and attended the event to share all about the items with us. It was such a special treat to meet and learn from these amazing Chefs. Chef Giselle was the youngest female executive chef in LA at the age of 26, she competed on Bravo TV's "Top Chef", she's helped open multiple restaurants in San Diego and is now working with an elementary school to help improve their quality of food. How awesome is that?!
After we enjoyed appetizers and great conversations we gathered around the table for a 5 course meal. While trying each course we all had a chance to really get to know each other. There were 4 influencers from San Diego and the Senior Vice President of brand experience with Dietz and Watson at the table. The chefs also stopped by during each course to talk about the food and get to know us all. I love these moments when I get the chance to speak with people who absolutely love their jobs and the people they work with. I learned all about Mama Dietz and how she is still so completely involved in the business at 92 years old. She goes into the office every day and even attends a majority of their events. They have 4 generations working within the company and are completely committed to providing fresh, delicious deli products while sharing family moments. What does Choose the Table mean to you?
