I am sure you have already gathered that one of my favorite things to do is cook. And eat. I have also really started to love crafting. I crafted more when I was younger but life seems to get in the way of doing ALL the fun things ALL the time. Anytime crafting comes up these days, I am all for it. I was invited to do some crafting and cooking at Waters Catering recently. What a fun treat! I had an amazing time and wanted to share the fun with you.
We first gathered in a room that had a table stocked with beautiful goodies. We were shown how to create a dreamcatcher with said goodies. Then we were off to craft and design any sort of dreamcatcher we wanted. I loved all the neutral colors mixed with teal and pops of shiny gold leaves.
All you really need is a medium to large metal ring, string, beads, yarn and a bit of hot glue to make a beautiful dreamcatcher. I am sure there are other things you could make with these items but I thought the whimsical dreamcatcher was a fun idea for a fall or winter craft.
There were a few dreamcatchers around the room for inspiration.
We all shared the fun on social with #WatersHolidayWorkshop if you want to see more photos.
After our entertaining crafting session was complete we headed to the kitchen to get started on dinner. There was a group of about 15 of us. Everyone had their own cooking station and a job assignment. My madre attended the event with me and we were assigned the Strawberry Kale Salad. The salad was super easy to make and oh so delicious!
After all the food was prepared we all sat down at a community table and enjoyed dinner together. I love nothing better than cooking and eating with new and old friends. I loved their set up with the wood boxes and white serving trays. The food was amazing. The chef at Waters Catering really knows what she is doing. The recipes were easy to follow with elevated ingredients which made for a great meal. Fab!
I hung my dreamcatcher up when I got home for a little fall decor. This whole event really made me excited for the holidays. I would love to host a similar crafts + cooking party. I don't know if I can fit it in this year but maybe closer to Christmas!
Are you working on any crafts?
I was invited to a craft and dinner event. All opinions are my own.
