I love delicious chocolate chip scones fresh out of the oven! These are so easy and fun to make, you're going to want to make them every week. James the chef took his turn at making these scones this week. Scones are perfect for kids to practice their baking skills on. This recipe uses ingredients that are typically already in your pantry. How to Make Delicious Chocolate Chip Scones
First, get out all of your ingredients. I recently put most of my baking essentials like flour, sugar and baking powder into storage jars. I love how it looks in my kitchen and it's easy to gather everything I need quickly. You'll also need measuring cups and spoons, a whisk, 2 bowls and a cookie sheet.
Mix the wet ingredients in one bowl and the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Then add the chopped butter to the flour mixture to combine well with your fingers. The more this is combined, the more flaky the scones will be.
Once all the ingredients are combined, knead the dough onto a floured surface till you can form it with your hands. Then place it on the baking sheet and press down into a ¾ inch circle. You may need to add more flour to your hands to keep it from sticking. Then with a floured butter knife, slice into 8 pieces. Bake for 20 minutes and enjoy!
James loved making these scones. I think we will add this recipe to our monthly rotation of tasty treats. We enjoyed these as an afternoon snack fresh out of the oven and then toasted the next morning for breakfast.
