Summer is in full swing around here! In our house, that means I have to get work done while the kiddos are here. In order to make all our lives a little easier, we do easy breakfasts that they can make all on their own. I have 3 simple breakfast ideas for kids, with a splash of fun! Clover the Rainbow from Clover Sonoma is working with us to bring you this post and we're so excited to have 3 fun flavors of milk to add to our morning routine! Their Splash of flavor milks include strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. Plus the milks are organic, lactose free with no to low added sugar. What I love most about these milks, is that it really is just a splash of flavor and a lot of fun!
3 Simple Breakfasts Ideas for Kids
- Strawberry Oatmeal - Make our brown sugar oats from the Cooking with Kids cookbook, or combine ½ cup of oats with 1 cup of water and microwave for 1 minute. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Add fresh or frozen strawberries and ¼ cup of a Splash of Strawberry on top!
- Vanilla Cereal - Pour any cereal you love in a bowl and cover with a Splash of Vanilla milk. This is James' favorite way to enjoy cereal now!
- Chocolate Greek Yogurt Bowl - Add 1 cup of greek yogurt to a bowl. Top with a sliced banana, a handful of raspberries and a tablespoon of cacao nibs or mini chocolate chips. Enjoy a glass of a Splash of Chocolate milk on the side!
Easy Breakfasts
We each came up with these meal ideas and fits perfectly with our personalities. Kyla went for the oats because she loves to add a little brown sugar to her morning oats. She's also the one who is always making fruit smoothies or enjoying frozen fruit. I love that she thought about adding frozen fruit to her oatmeal and topping it with strawberry milk!
Cereal, Oats and Yogurt
James wanted to make something with the vanilla milk and since he's really been enjoying cereal these days, it was a no brainer. The Splash of Vanilla is his favorite of the three flavors of milk so he adds it to any cereal we have on hand.
Yogurt Bowls
I've been enjoying a lot of these Raspberry Greek Yogurt Bowls lately so it was super fun to switch it up and bring chocolate into the mix. Adding in banana and chocolate to my morning yogurt bowl is like having dessert for breakfast but it's still healthy! I happened to have cacao nibs on hand which pair perfectly with a Splash of Chocolate milk!
I hope these breakfast ideas help make your mornings a breeze, and add in a splash of fun at the same time! xo, Bri
